Search engine optimization (SEO) is a long-term game filled with many moving parts of link building, keyword research, content optimization, and competitor analysis.

How can you tell if your team’s efforts are moving the needle? And how do you demonstrate that to your clients? You need the best SEO reporting software.

As SEO gains can be quite difficult to quantify, here are a few metrics that the savvy SEO professional should look out for in a great reporting tool:

  • The ability to monitor your SERP rankings movement over time.
  • Measure the organic traffic funneled to each unique web or landing page.
  • On-page SEO reporting insights in order to optimize and update content.
  • Include a keyword research tool to help you discover ideas for topical authority.
  • Give you a way to measure content efficiency (the effective cost per winning content).
  • Check out your average engagement time to minimize bounce rates.
  • Conversion rates (at the end of the day, that’s the goal of SEO right?)
  • Give you an idea of how your SEO is affecting your brand visibility.
  • Track your closest competitors to get ahead.
  • White label reporting so that you can give your clients a customized, branded report to stay professional.

You’re probably thinking, yes, all of the above!

But the reality is many softwares excel in one area and may lack in another. As I specialize in SEO (I’ve already vetted the SEO softwares for you already), here’s my breakdown of the best SEO reporting software specific so that your clients are left impressed after every update.

Table of Contents:

What is the Best SEO Reporting Software on the Market?

This is specific for reporting, tracking, and benchmarking your SEO. If you’re looking for the best tools to optimize your SEO performance, then you can also check some marketing tools as well.

1. SE Ranking

Great All-In-One Tool

SE Ranking has been one of the top-tier SEO reporting tools on the market thanks to its simplified, easy-to-use dashboard. You can integrate either one or multiple websites with an overview of all your projects in one place.

From the main dashboard, you can see many SEO insights, such as your website’s average position, traffic forecast, search visibility, and how many of your keywords are ranking top ten.

SE Ranking Reporting Features:

  • White label reporting feature that allows you to create custom reports for your clients utilizing your own branding.
  • It tracks all of your website’s backlinks and keyword rankings.
  • Like many SEO reporting tools, there is a topic cluster finder where you can search for a keyword and see related topics to help you achieve topic authority. It gives you volume, competitive score, CPC, and difficulty level. What’s different is that it gives you a “mind map” to help you visually choose which topic to go after.
  • If you’re an editor, their content brief section makes on-page SEO for your writers quick and easy. Select the keywords, article parameters, content structure, and top keywords. Anyone can write in the editor and does not need access to contribute.
  • Competitor analysis to see where you’re positioned within your industry.
  • The content editor is lacking a bit, and it does not integrate with AI writers like Jasper.
  • Its content strategy helps you determine which to continue writing about to increase traffic but doesn’t take into consideration ROI on specific keywords.

Pricing

Their plans are reasonably affordable, starting at $39.20 for solopreneurs. Agencies will want to buy their pro plan for white-label reporting access.

Verdict

SE Ranking is one of the best SEO reporting tools that gives you everything you nearly everything you need to analyze your SEO campaigns, including customized reports.

2. Raven Tools

Great Customizable Reports

If you’re looking for a dedicated SEO reporting tool without all the other bells and whistles (like content writers and editors) then Raven Tools is worth a look.

Once you’ve initiated your website audit, you can get a nice report that gives you a score, along with everything that’s wrong or needs improvement. This can be all the “technical” SEO functions, like missing meta-descriptions and mobile/desktop speeds, to your backlinking game.

Raven Tools Reporting Features

  • White-label website analytic reports that include traffic sources, website health, and many other data points. You can also include historical data to reference your progress.
  • Their marketing reports bring meaningful KPIs to your meeting. You can include your conversion rates, transactions, and estimated revenue brought in from your SEO efforts.
  • You can also bring in customized, detailed reports with social media metrics like engagement and shares.
  • It doesn’t include tools like content editors, content briefs, or any other generative content options.

Raven Tools Pricing

It’s a much heftier price tag to get these drag-and-drop branded reports, starting around $40/month.

Verdict

If you’re looking for the most customizable SEO reports for your metrics and for dozens of different site campaigns, then Raven Tools is a great option.

3. Semrush

Popular SEO Reporting Tools

Semrush is a popular tool that is used primarily as a keyword and backlink finder for both you and your competitors. I place Semrush and Ahrefs as similar reporting tools. So you may be asking, how does this report on my SEO?

As far as reporting tools go, Semrush offers what they call “Deep Insights,” which consists of a one-time, detailed report on your advertising, traffic/SERP insight reports, competitor journey, landing pages, or any other customizable report you may need.

So if you’re not rushing for subscription software for clients and just need a quick report for your own company, then this is a good option.

Semrush Features

  • You can get customized, one-time payment reports on your business site that will help you optimize your SEO metrics.
  • Their subscription platform allows you to check in on your SERP rankings and backlink monitoring (do-follows, no follows, domain ratings).
  • Spy on your competitors to determine which pages bring in the most traffic, rank the highest, and find out where they’re getting their links from.
  • Includes information from social media platforms, which is great to see how your socials may be funneling into certain pages.
  • There are also white-label portals so you can send your clients the updates they want to see.
  • It can get pricey.

Pricing

A bit pricier than its competitors on the list.

Verdict

Overall, SemRush is a great keyword, ranking, and backlink SEO reporting tool that also includes many white-label reporting options. For all you get, you will pay for it.

4. Google

Search Engine Tool

As a business, we’re constantly looking for automated reports about how our content is ranking and channeling organic traffic. So why not get the information from the source itself?

That leads us to Google, the search engine that matters (as long as ChatGPT doesn’t interfere). Google splits its web analytics reports into four different platforms:

  • Google Search Console: Totally free. Use it to track your page rankings and index your URLs. You should already be using this.
  • Google Ads (PPC): If you’re balancing organic vs. paid traffic, then you’ll need Google ads. I recommend their keyword planner, which will also help you research the CPC and competition for keywords.
  • Google Analytics: Measure your organic traffic (but make sure you’re ready for G4).
  • Google Data Studio: A general data compilation studio, but you can connect your analytics and PPC to it to create customizable data and reports for your company.

Pricing

Google Search Console, Analytics, and Studio are free. You’ll pay for ads with rates depending on the keyword you’re targeting.

Verdict

If you’re in the SEO game, then you should already have Google Console and Analytics to measure your traffic and index your new pages. Google Ads will be necessary if you decide to incorporate some PPC for brand visibility. Google Data Studio is a fine, free way to present your SEO (submit your Ahrefs information).

5. SerpStat

Comprehensive SEO Reporting Tool

Serpstat’s goal is to be your go-to platform for SEO, that way, you don’t need one set of reporting tools and another for rank tracking or backlink analysis.

They offer all the essential metrics you need to monitor one or a hundred websites all in one place, with an easy-to-use dashboard to manage all your products.

As you’re looking for a great reporting tool, here’s what they offer:

  • They have great automatic features that will pull data on a specific date or time interval and create SEO reports for you.
  • White label reporting with your own company or agency logo to update your clients on the more recent site audits.
  • Offer every SEO marketing data point you could be looking for, including keyword suggestions, rank tracking, backing analysis, page/site audits, and competitor data for benchmarking your company against industry runners.
  • While they are aiming to be all-inclusive, they don’t integrate with popular AI writers like Jasper.

Pricing

Unfortunately, if you’re looking for white-label reporting options than you have to subscribe to their Enterprise option, which is pretty pricey.

Verdict

If you’re looking for a comprehensive, one-stop-shop, SerpStat is a great option to offer your clients the best SEO reporting. But this is best for large agencies as you need to enroll in their Enterprise option.

6. SEO Powersuite

Budget Friendly

SEO Powersuite is one of the tried and true SEO reporting tools that will help you determine where your site stands among the search engines. It is much different than the alternatives we’ve discussed in that it’s a desktop program and does not run on cloud computing networks. This is nice as it makes it much more affordable, but then you have limited access. It has four main programs:

  • Website Auditor: Audit your website’s architecture and structure to make sure it is optimized properly.
  • Rank Tracker: Track keyword rankings and gain insight into what keywords are performing best.
  • SEO Spyglass: Analyze competitor backlinks so you can use them as a roadmap for your own link building.
  • LinkAssistant: Manage your link-building campaigns to make sure you’re getting the maximum benefit from them.

They also offer customizable white-label reports that come from their SEO data which you can configure to automatically update based on your needs.

Pricing

SEO Powersuite is more affordable than the others, clocking in at only $300-$400 per year (some options cost this much per month).

Verdict

SEO Powersuite is a great solution for those with a limited budget but that still need all the functionality of comprehensive software.

7. Agency Analytics

Best Dashboard Reports

Agency Analytics is the ultimate SEO reporting tool if you’re looking not only to email or present a nice report to your clients but also to give them their own dashboard so they can check in anytime.

So, is it the best SEO reporting tool? I’ll let you judge, but it gives you all the essentials, like website analytics, position tracking, and technical SEO site audits.

Agency Analytics Features

  • Create custom reports and dashboards for all of your clients in one place.
  • You can integrate all of the moving parts, so it updates automatically with Google Analytics, PPC ad campaigns, social media, and more.
  • I’m not sure if it offers as great of information as some of its competitors, like SEMrush and Ahrefs, when it comes to real-time data.
  • White label reports with your company’s branding.

Pricing

I was stunned by how affordable this option was.

Verdict

Analytics is a great reporting tool for agencies. It offers data-driven insights and analytics for SEO with a user-friendly dashboard for your clients.
