With so many AI headshot generators entering the market, many people are wondering which company has the best AI model to create stunning portrait photos for your digital brand.
In this article, I’m going to do a deep dive into Aragon AI, one of the more popular AI headshot generators on the market.
I’ll test out and showcase real-life examples from myself and Jake, from J.B. Brandon (also conveniently my husband), so that you can decide for yourself if these live up to the hype.

Aragon AI: How Does It Work?
First, you’re probably asking how an AI headshot generator works in the first place. Their AI technology works by assessing your specific facial features, body, and hairstyle in order to create various photos of you in a business setting.
In order to create these professional headshots, you need to upload photos of yourself so that the AI technology can understand what you look like.
I personally find that if you spend a good 30-45 minutes uploading high-quality shots of yourself that you love and feel you look great in, the better the AI-generated images tend to be.
Here’s a look at Aragon AI’s process.
Step 1: Share Your Use Case
First, you can choose to add some information, such as a profession & reason for the photo.
They don’t have every profession under the sun, but if you do have a profession that matches you (such as a teacher, realtor, or chef), then I highly recommend selecting that so you can get more photos with backgrounds tailored to your profession.
Step 2: Obtain Your Appearance Information
The AI technology tries to capture the essence of your face based on the photos that you upload.
But first, they ask a few simple questions, such as ethnicity, hair, and eye color, to help the technology generate the photos.
Step 3: Upload Your Photos
Now, after doing this half a dozen times, I’ve really found that the motto “garbage in, garbage out” holds true.
If you feed the AI terrible photos, you’ll get terrible photos in return.
My biggest tip is to upload photos that you feel represent what you look like. I once tried with a bunch of selfies I did on the spot, and that wasn’t a good call. Get good, quality photos of yourself in different lights and backgrounds over the past couple of years.
As for things like glasses, you need to upload photos, either with them or without them.
And some definite no-nos to also think about are:
- Blurry photos
- Photos with other people or kids
- Poor resolution
- Photos with different facial hair
- Photos at drastically different ages
You need to upload at least 14 photos to get your professional headshots, which is on par with the other companies.
I, personally, did not have this many photos. But I was able to find family photos, crop myself out, and then submit that, and it usually worked if the resolution stayed on point.
Here’s a sample of what Jake’s input photos looked like:
As you can see, I mostly had to crop or edit photos because usually someone was in them.
When you upload a photo that doesn’t meet their quality checks, you’ll get an alert and they won’t upload. This happened to me when I tried cropping an already poor-quality photo.
Aragon AI Results
Okay, it’s honestly not even fair, but Jake’s photos turned out PHENOMENAL. So much better than mine did (but I still liked mine!), which just goes to show if you spend a ton of time finding the best photos of yourself, the effort pays off.

This one was my personal favorite:
If you zoom into these photos, you’re always going to be able to tell subtle inaccuracies (like the bottom ones my eyes aren’t that blue but more of a greenish/blue). But on any professional profile pic (like a small LinkedIn profile picture), this is great.
